The band received two nominations: one for Song of the Year for “Gentle on My Mind” and one for Recorded Event of the Year for their duet with Sonya Isaacs on “Golden Ring.” Both songs can be found on their most recent album, Timeless Hits From the Past Bluegrassed, released through the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store’s exclusive music program and available at all Cracker Barrel Old Country Store® locations,crackerbarrel.com, iTunes, and Amazon.com.

In addition to the group honors, lead singer Russell Moore received a solo nomination for Male Vocalist of the Year, a category he has won an unprecedented five times (1994, 1997, 2010-2012), and Wayne Benson received a solo nomination for Instrumental Performer of the Year: Mandolin.

“We have enjoyed working with Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out and are excited that their music and talent have been honored by the IBMA voters with these nominations,” said Julie Craig, Cracker Barrel’s Marketing Manager. “They are a beloved part of the Cracker Barrel exclusive music program family.”

Timeless Hits From the Past Bluegrassed debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Bluegrass Albums Chart in January of this year and held that position seven of eight weeks on the chart. The album, consisting of classic country hits re-recorded in the band’s signature bluegrass style, gives a modern flare to the popular music originally recorded by Elvis Presley, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, George Jones, and Tammy Wynette, among others.

Among their many honors, IIIrd Tyme Out has won the IBMA Vocal Group of the Year Award seven times (1994-2000).

The 2013 IBMA Awards will be held on Thursday, Sept. 26 as part of the World of Bluegrass Week in Raleigh, N.C. For more information, visit www.ibma.org.
